Catering Operations Assistant
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Flexible schedule, though evening and weekend are required based on event schedule
Compensation: Pay based on experience.

A Thyme Savor is a fast-growing catering company known for exceptional service, creative menus, and memorable event experiences. We are seeking a Catering Operations Assistant to support our Operations Coordinator and help ensure every event runs smoothly.
Position Overview
The Catering Operations Assistant works directly alongside the Operations Coordinator to execute event logistics, maintain organization of equipment and vehicles, and assist with on-site event support. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and essential to maintaining the high standards our clients expect. During peak season, this role typically goes on-site approximately 2–3 events per week, with additional preparation and breakdown responsibilities as needed. Event schedules vary and include evenings and weekends, making flexibility and reliability essential to the success of our operations team.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with loading catering vehicles according to detailed packout lists
• Support the cleaning, stocking, and organization of catering vehicles and storage units
• Help reorganize and reset catering equipment following events
• Assist with basic equipment maintenance and identifying damaged or missing items
• Fulfill beverage lists and assist with alcohol and non-alcoholic beverage preparation for events
• Support vehicle cleanliness and basic upkeep
• Assist with full-service and delivery catering events on-site
• Collaborate closely with the Operations Coordinator on weekly event preparation
Qualifications
• Prior catering, hospitality, or event experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and timelines
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable with prolonged standing, walking, and working indoors and outdoors

Jeff has helped grow and run the business by managing the accounting, marketing and maintaining the grounds & catering equipment.
Liz Hiner, the Catering Director, is the go to person for everything wedding related. Liz has extensive catering experience and has helped manage our catering business with a dedication to details and processes that have allowed our company to grow exponentially and become a premier catering company in eastern NC.
Brad Hagler, our Executive Chef, is one of the areas most talented chefs. Brad came on board with a lot of experience in the restaurant industry and quickly adapted that knowledge to the catering environment that we operate today. Brad has a traditional yet elegant approach to his dishes and the sauces he prepares which translates to many of our clients saying over and over again that it is the best food they have ever tasted!
We have a wide variety of menus with a main focus on traditional, yet elevated Southern and Italian dishes. We source local, fresh & high quality ingredients whenever possible to ensure a delicious experience and, of course, support our small businesses in Eastern North Carolina!
We strive to practice environmentally safe and green operations by using biodegradable & recyclable products to help reduce our footprint on earth. Go Green!
